Haritha Haram: Telangana stands third in the list of welfare States in the country

Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Sunday claimed that the implementation of several welfare schemes was bringing lot of popularity to Telangana State and presently it stands third in the list of welfare States in the country.

Addressing a review meeting on Haritha Haram and housing at Dr MCR HRD Institute at Jubilee Hills here on Sunday, the Chief Minister said that officials should work hard to ensure proper implementation of welfare schemes. Chief Secretary Dr Rajiv Sharma, DGP Anurag Sharma and other senior officials were also present.

KCR said that the schemes launched by the Telangana Government have been drawing the attention of people from across the country. For the same reason, the HUDCO has agreed to funds for Water Grid project which promises drinking water facility to all the households in the State in the next four years.

Speaking about Haritha Haram programme, KCR directed the officials to make elaborate arrangements for the successful implementation of this programme next month. He said nearly 40 crore saplings would be made available through 4,213 nurseries across the State during the programme. He said plantations would be done as per the soil and weather conditions. Later, he also released a poster on Haritha Haram programme. He said that the government intends to plant 230 crore trees across the State.
