  • Hyderabad HC orders Telangana govt to maintain status quo on APNGOs land
          Justice Vilas Afzulpurkar of the Hyderabad High Court on Monday directed the Telangana state government to maintain status quo in respect of the land allotted to the APNGOs Mutually Aided Cooperative Housing Society Ltd in Ranga Reddy district.

  • 84 from Telangana, Andhra Pradesh return from Iraq
           Yet another batch of 186 Indian nationals, stranded in war-ravaged Iraq, reached New Delhi by a special Iraqi Airways flight on Monday afternoon. Of the 186 people, over 84  were construction workers from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, hailing from districts like Adilabad, Karimnagar, East Godavari, West Godavari and Hyderabad.

          The Union of India on Monday submitted before the Hyderabad High Court that the common High Court which had came into existence on June 2, 2014, had absolute jurisdiction on Telangana and the residuary state of the Andhra Pradesh till the constitution of a separate High Court for AP.

           Rejecting outright the Centre’s move to grant more powers, especially on the law and order front, to the Governor in the common capital area of Hyderabad, Telangana chief secretary Rajeev Sharma on Monday wrote back to the Union home ministry stating that it was a clear cut infringement on the powers of the elected government.
